FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hundreds Benefit from McDonald’s Corporation Corporate Challenge
April 21, 2014.
Oakbrook, Illinois. The McDonald’s Corporation Corporate Challenge is off
to a great start, with over 500 employees enrolled. We look to continue to
increase these numbers and get our corporate employees healthier and more
active as a whole. Our initiative includes promoting physical activity in the
workplace by suggesting small changes throughout the workday.
Employees have been implementing changes including taking
the stairs instead of the elevator, walking during their lunch hour, getting up
to stretch their legs during long meetings and swapping out their desk chairs
for exercise balls. Cindy Johnson the
Assistant Director of Financial Operations for the past 14 years said, “I like
to incorporate different body weight exercises, such as squats and lunges, into
my morning coffee break.”
The corporate challenge not only improves our employee’s
physical well being, but also the company’s productivity. It is a great way to
get employees to interact with each other in an atmosphere beyond work,
promoting a more cohesive workplace. Matt Croft, the Digital Marketing Manager
whom has worked for the company for 9 years said, “The challenge allows
employees from all departments of McDonald’s to interact with one another and
gain a sense of camaraderie!”
McDonald’s Corporation is committed to continuously
improving our business practices and enhancing our customers’ experience
through our Plan to Win strategic plan. McDonald’s Corporation holds customer
